On September 25, 2010, the Energy Chamber will be partnering with the Heroes
Foundation to clean up Vessigny Beach in support of the 25th anniversary of
the International Coastal CleanUp (ICC)
We are encouraging all members to support this environmental effort as we
clean up the Vessigny Beach area. Many other organizations will also be
cleaning up other beach sites in Trinidad and Tobago and all over the world...

There is an increased move under the Obama Administration to ramp up international "anti-bribery" practices overseas. The effort is motivated by the notion that business should not be conducted in one way in more modernized countries and then practiced differently in others.
The overal goal is teh creation of a golabl consensus that corruption in unacceptable, according to the US Justice Department Criminal Division. The administration also links corruption with national security issues such as arms and narcotics trafficking and terrorism.
The FBI is deploying "legal attaches" to at least 75 overseas missions mandated to investigate bribery on the road to tackling overseas corruption

The Energy Chamber will launch its 3rd annual Corporate Social Responsibilty Leadership Awards on June 15, 2010.

86% of Guyana is covered by forests with some 80% tropical rain forests. Guyana is currently refining its Low Carbon Development Strategy (LCDS) where REDD would be the major financing mechanism.

EmailCARICOM has unveiled a united strategy on mitigating against the effects of Climate Change ahead of the upcoming UN Summit on Climate Change in Copenhagen next week. The intent of the campaign is to support a common, regional approach in dealing with climate change issues. CARICOM's Secretary General, Edwin Carrington, stated that the regional approach to mitigating against climate change was based on studies carried out by the Caribbean Community Centre for Climate Change (CCCCC) which concluded that global temperatures exceeding 1.5 degrees celcius will have devastating impacts on the Caribbean region.
